1. Ensure trench excavation strictly adheres to established standards to guarantee the integrity of the installation.
To avoid pipeline placement within permafrost zones, trench depth should be carefully calculated using local geological data. Properly executed backfilling and tamping are crucial to prevent pipeline and interface cracking due to bending stress, requiring that:
(1) Trenches must remain straight. The bottom width should exceed the pipe's outer diameter by at least 0.5m, with a total width no less than 0.7m.
(2) Precisely control the trench depth to avoid excess or insufficient digging. Excess gravel depth requires backfilling and compacting to the specified level. Encountering hard soil or obstacles, like stones, may tempt altering the trench path or depth, creating curves or insufficient depth, leading to potential pipe bending, stressing joints and sockets. This, alongside rising water pressure, could provoke joint leakage or rupture of pipes and fittings.
2. Evade permafrost foundations and prevent trench settlement. During winter builds, ensure the pipe trench bottom lies on untouched soil or adequately compacted ground post-backfilling. Otherwise, high soil moisture and a non-dense foundation may result in permafrost melting as temperatures increase over the next year, leading to foundation settlement. This can bend pipes, break joints, add stress, and result in leaks or pipe ruptures.
3. Winter pipeline bonding must comply with stringent regulations for maximum efficacy.
PVC-UH tube adhesive, predominantly a PVC-UH solvent, operates by applying glue on socket surfaces, expanding or dissolving them. Precise adhesive application is critical. Insufficient amounts compromise seal and strength. Excessive quantities may lead to flow along pipe walls post-insertion, causing corrosion and softening, risking cracks under water or pressure. Low temperatures exacerbate this, as slower adhesive evaporation deepens wall penetration, weakening the structure.
Thus, follow specifications diligently for pipe bonding. The bonding agent should slightly overflow when sockets are inserted, which should be promptly cleaned. Apply glue from the socket interior outward to avoid inner wall contamination.
4. Pipe thermal expansion and contraction considerations
With a thermal expansion coefficient of 0.07mm (m·ºC), PVC-UH pipes expand more than traditional counterparts. Monitor temperature-induced longitudinal deformation, notably in systems using surface water sources.
Thanks to the remarkable scalability of the rubber ring connecting pipe interface, potential issues can easily be mitigated. However, when it comes to bonded pipes-especially those that are open-the interface post-bonding becomes rigid, neither expanding nor contracting. In the absence of an expansion joint, the enormous stress from expansion or contraction may affect the pipe itself or its fittings adversely.
There are versatile pipe connection methods to suit different needs, including solvent adhesive, elastic sealing ring, and an integrated rubber ring connection. Furthermore, these pipes offer compatibility with other types of pipes such as cast iron ones, achievable through the use of flanges or other suitable adapters. This flexibility ensures a seamless and secure connection tailored to various requirements.
Engage in this straightforward connection process: start with cleaning the working face, proceed to brush on lubricant, and finally, achieve a perfect match with counterpart insertion. This method ensures a reliable connection every time.
1. Prior to commencing installation, it is crucial to thoroughly inspect the quality of pipes, fittings, and rubber rings. Ensure the working faces of both the socket and its counterpart are impeccably clean.
2. During the installation process, position the socket such that it faces the direction from which water will be incoming, ensuring optimal flow and functionality.
3. Generously apply a suitable lubricant to both the rubber ring and insertion part, while ensuring the amount is just right to prevent overflow into the socket groove. This reduces the friction between the rubber ring and the groove wall, preventing the rubber ring from overturning. Detergents and soapy water are ideal lubricants for this process.
4. Ensure that the socket ports are perfectly aligned, maintaining the pipeline axis in a straight line. This precision guarantees a secure and effective connection.
5. Utilize appropriate wire rope sleeves on either side of the socket, pulling them together with a tightener or hand wrench. For medium-sized pipes, square wood padding can be utilized at the port, and a mallet may be used to gently knock it into the socket, ensuring a snug fit.
