PVC-UH Water Supply Pipe: Trench Excavation Standards & Backfill Soil Quality
1. Trench excavation should rigorously adhere to the established standards.
To prevent our Reliable Blue PVC Pipe from being laid in permafrost, carefully determine trench depths using local data insights. This ensures optimal backfill operations, preventing pipeline and interface cracking from undue bending stress. Maintain these standards to achieve efficiency:
(1) Trench alignment must remain straight. The trench's bottom width should exceed the pipe's outer diameter by at least 0.5m, with a total width of no less than 0.7m for robust installation.
(2) Precisely monitor groove depth, avoiding excessive or insufficient digging. Should gravel exceed depth, ensure it is backfilled and compacted to the precise depth. In tough soil or when hard obstacles like stones arise, avoid curved trenching as this complicates construction and exacerbates bending stress on pipes, fittings, and joints. Increased water pressure can result in joint leaks or even the rupture of pipes and fittings.
2. Safeguard against permafrost foundation and avert pipe trench settlement. Particularly during winter, ensure the trench bottom rests on undisturbed soil or well-compacted ground post-backfilling. Excess soil moisture combined with inadequate foundation density can lead to post-winter permafrost melting and cause detrimental trench settlement. This results in pipe bending and joint breakage, generating additional stress which, if minor, results in leaks, or if severe, leads to pipe rupture.
3. Conduct winter pipeline bonding strictly following regulations.
The PVC-UH tube adhesive, primarily a PVC-UH solvent, functions by bonding the socket's inner surface with the outer surface. The adhesive expands or dissolves the PVC-UH-polyurethane tube surface, and during socket insertion, extrusion pressure unites the surfaces. The solvent's evaporation turns the dissolved layer solid, maintaining substrate strength and ensuring the bonding strength fulfills pressure requirements.
Adhesive amounts should strike a careful balance-neither excessive nor insufficient. Too little can't guarantee seal or strength, while too much might flow along the pipe walls during insertion, corroding them, leading to potential cracks upon water pressure application. Low temperatures slow down adhesive evaporation, causing deeper penetration and weakening the pipe's strength.
Thus, bonding construction must align with specific guidelines. Use just enough bonding agent so that a minimal amount overflows when the socket is inserted fully. Clean any excess with a cloth. Apply glue from the socket's inside out to prevent it from seeping into the pipe's inner walls.
4. Address thermal expansion and contraction of pipes effectively.
Our PVC-UH pipes have a thermal expansion coefficient of 0.07mm (m · ºC), surpassing traditional pipe variants. Account for longitudinal deformation due to temperature variations, particularly in surface water systems.

For bonded pipes, particularly open ones, the interface after bonding becomes rigid, lacking flexibility for expansion or contraction. Without an expansion joint, significant stress may be exerted on the pipe or its fittings, potentially compromising the system's integrity.

1. Prior to installation, meticulously inspect the quality of all pipes, fittings, and rubber rings, ensuring they meet stringent standards. Thoroughly clean the socket and socket working faces for optimal performance.
2. When installing pipes, position the socket to face the direction of the incoming water flow, ensuring efficient transport and system reliability.
3. Generously apply lubricant to both the rubber ring and the insertion part to facilitate smooth assembly. Use an appropriate amount to prevent excess lubricant from entering the socket groove, which could reduce friction and cause the rubber ring to dislodge. For best results, detergents or soapy water serve as effective lubricants.
4. Ensure the socket ports are perfectly aligned, maintaining a straight pipeline axis to ensure seamless flow and structural integrity.
5. Securely position suitable wire rope sleeves on both sides of the socket. Utilize a tightener or hand wrench to precisely draw them into the reticle. For medium-caliber pipes, strategically pad the port with square wood and gently tap it into the socket using a mallet, ensuring a stable and secure fit.
